Jane Austen Festival

Drove two and a half hours today (one way) for a Jane Austen Festival in Kentucky. Even though it was small and we were done in about two hours, it was still LOADS of fun. The costumes were gorgeous, even non-volunteers wore their own dresses. And the gentlemen were very dashing as usual. The volunteers were excellent actors/actresses and it really did feel like I'd just stepped into a Jane Austen novel.
Highlights of the day were the costumes and the duel between two gentlemen. The gentleman who was insulted (apparently called a cheat and a coward the previous night :P ) is the guy in the middle, long green jacket. His second is the officer on the left.

I couldn't get a shot of the "offending gentleman" because there were too many people in the way. The result of the duel? - This gentleman lost :P Glad I wasn't a gambling girl! :D

I absolutely ADORED this lady's dress! And so did everyone else. She definitely caught people's attention.

I did not go in costume but if I get the chance to go next year....I just might have to whip up my own regency dress. :)
